The "Genesis" was the name of the very first Weber Gas BBQ put into production some 30 years ago. Since then, Weber started gaining fans at an alarming rate to become the biggest barbecue manufacturer on the planet. The Weber Genesis offers affordable luxury and the Genesis Grill Centre al-fresco dining one step further.

Three different Genesis models available in either black porcelain enamel or fully stainless steel (black models signified by a preceeding 'E' for ebony and stainless steel models preceeded by 'S' for stainless steel), gain more features as you travel up the scale. The E/S-310 models are the entry level and ideal for those who love the aesthetics of the Weber Genesis but are reluctant to experiment with different cooking styles.

The Weber Genesis E/S-330 barbecues include a powerful side burner as well as the new Sear Burner nestled under the cooking grates. For those veterans of outdoor entertaining and with space to spare, the E/S-330 Grill-Centres could be just what you are looking for in an outdoor kitchen - loads of extra storage and work space, built into one solid unit. You will also notice that the black 'E' Genesis feature cast-iron cooking grates which arguably perform better than the stainless steel cooking grates of the 'S' Genesis models, though stainless steel is much easier to clean and maintain.

In 2011 the Weber Genesis BBQs went through a redesign in order to perform as well as the Summit BBQs but without the hefty price tags. Instead of runing from left to right, the gas burners now run front to back which means the control knobs have a new home on the front panel of the barbecue as opposed to on the side shelf. This frees up an extra work surface, is more convenient for left-handed users and means you are not having to stretch across the heat source. On top of this, the burner redesign makes indirect cooking much easier to control with more defined divisions inbetween the burners. Weber have continued with design for 2012.
