Weber Q BBQ
|
Under their cute exterior, the Weber Q BBQs have the power to deliver superior cooking results. Whether gas or electric, Weber have designed a Q grill for you and your needs. Their tough cast-aluminium shell combines light and heatproof properties and their chunky ergonomic handels makes this an ideal travelling partner. These barbecues are extremely low maintenance and the chunky parts areremovable and easy to clean. The control valve makes it easy to regulate internal temperature with the built in theromometers on most of the Q's giving an accurate reading without having to lift the lid and lose heat and moisture. These barbecues are the latest line in Weber's ever increasing arsenal, combining the ease of gas and the convenience of potability. Through demand and extensive market research, they have produced larger family-sized models and electric Q's for use on balconies, and those with open flame restrictions. Weber's penchant for delivering outstanding results stem from their revolutionising ethos of barbecuing with the lid on. Unlike the standard open and flatbed barbecues available at the time, and after some useful advice from his next door neighbour about air ventilation, George Stephen released his kettle barbecue to much acclaim and from there Weber built their business and reputation into the global brand they are today. As with all the Weber barbecues, the Weber Q BBQs follow this principal of cooking with the lid on for awesome results, whether it be through direct or indirect grilling... |

Direct and Indirect cooking on you Weber Q
![]() |
Direct Cooking
As the most common way of grilling, direct cooking involves heating on full power to searing temperatures. This method is ideal for small items of food which require a high heat to fully cook such as sausages and steaks which leaves great looking sear marks. To achieve this on your Q, pre-heat for 5 minutes on full power, arrange the food on the cooking grate over the burners and close the lid. Try to lift the lid as little as possible so as not to lose heat and moisture, and turn meat only once to avoid drying out. |

Indirect Cooking
The principal of indirect cooking is that the food is not exposed to direct heat and like in a convection oven, heat is dispersed around the barbecue and allowed to penetrate from all angles. Because the heat is not as intense as direct cooking, much larger cuts of meat as well as full poultry and joints can be safely cooked right through on your barbecue. As the Weber Q300/Q320 have two burners (one in the middle and one around the outside) this technique is easy to achive; all you need to do is pre-heat the barbecue for 5 minutes, then turn off the central burner and ensure the outer burner is set to medium. Place the food in the middle of the grate and close the lid. The Q100/200 series barbecues only have one burner so to ensure that your food is not cremated on the outside or raw in the middle, after the barbecue has pre-heated, simply turn down the burners so heat has plenty of time to penetrate the meat fully. |
Folding Side TablesThe side tables provide useful storage and work area for their owners and fold away when not in use making them perfect for storage and travelling. Available as standard on the Q200 series and Weber Q120, the Q side tables can be bought seperately for the rest of the Q100 series including the electric Q140. Please note: These side tables are not suitable for the Weber Q300 series which feature heavy duty side tables. Featuring tool hooks, the side tables also conceal a perpendicular-running reinforcement bar which operates as useful storage for two of Weber's specially deigned 2pc tool sets (shown below) which holds them in place when not in use. The tool sets themselves feature grooves in the handles which allow them to clip in place for practicality. |
