Weber® Q® BBQ

weber 5 year limited warranty on 'Q' barbecues

Under their cute exterior, the Weber® Q® BBQ's have the power to deliver superior cooking results. Whether gas or electric, Weber® have designed a grill for you and your needs. Their tough cast-aluminium shell combines light and heatproof properties and their chunky ergonomic handles, makes this an ideal travelling partner.

These barbecues are extremely low maintenance and the chunky parts are removable and easy to clean. The control valve makes it easy to regulate internal temperature with the built in thermometers on most of the 's giving an accurate reading without having to lift the lid and lose heat and moisture.

From the small brightly coloured Weber® Q® 1200 (available in purple, fuchsia, blue, green and orange) all the way up to the Weber® Q® 3200 each of these funky models oozes personality and fun as well as perfectly cooked food thanks to its unique Q-shaped burner.

And for those living in a flat where gas and charcoal barbecues are not allowed to be used on the balcony there's the Weber® Q® 1400 Electric barbecue to solve that problem!

As with all the Weber® barbecues, the Weber® Q® BBQ's follow this principal of cooking with the lid on for awesome results, whether it be through direct or indirect grilling.

Direct and Indirect cooking on you Weber® Q®

Direct Cooking

Direct grilling on a Weber Q BBQAs the most common way of grilling, direct cooking involves heating on full power to searing temperatures. This method is ideal for small items of food which require a high heat to fully cook such as sausages and steaks which leaves great looking sear marks.

To achieve this on your Q®, pre-heat for 5 minutes on full power, arrange the food on the cooking grate over the burners and close the lid. Try to lift the lid as little as possible so as not to lose heat and moisture, and turn meat only once to avoid drying out.

Indirect Cooking

Indirect grilling on a Weber Q BBQThe principal of indirect cooking is that the food is not exposed to direct heat and like in a convection oven, heat is dispersed around the barbecue and allowed to penetrate from all angles. Because the heat is not as intense as direct cooking, much larger cuts of meat as well as full poultry and joints can be safely cooked right through on your barbecue.

As the Weber® Q ®3200 has two burners (one in the middle and one around the outside) this technique is easy to achieve; all you need to do is pre-heat the barbecue for 5 minutes, then turn off the central burner and ensure the outer burner is set to medium. Place the food in the middle of the grate and close the lid.

The Weber® Q® 1000 / Q® 2000 series barbecues only have one burner so to ensure that your food is not cremated on the outside or raw in the middle, after the barbecue has pre-heated, simply turn down the burners so heat has plenty of time to penetrate the meat fully.

Since the Weber® Q® 1000 / Q® 2000 series barbecues only have one burner a Weber® Q® Roasting Shield and Weber® Q® Roast Rack need to be used on the grate to diffuse the heat and create the indirect effect.

Always use a Weber® BBQ Thermometer if you are unsure how cooked your meat is.
