Weber celebrate over 70 years of barbecue knowledge, no other manufacturer can boast such a wealth of experience as Weber, and they continue to develop the world of barbecuing every day.

Among Weber’s iconic barbecues are the Spirit and Genesis ranges, two ranges of gas grills developed for amazing results time after time. Both the Spirit and Genesis ranges are the product of Weber’s years of dedication to the art of barbecue, but the features of each range vary slightly.

Weber Spirit II range

Weber’s Spirit II barbecues are available in two and three burner sizes. They have an open cart design with gas bottle storage on the right-hand side. Spirit II grills feature two stainless steel side tables with the left side folding away. They have porcelain-enamelled cast iron grates that includes Weber’s GBS system, making the Spirit II grills compatible with Weber’s range of GBS accessories. Weber’s Spirit II grills have a fixed warming rack perfect for keeping food warm, toasting burger buns, and more.

Choose from the Spirit II E-210, a compact two burner grill perfect for small families or those short on space, the Spirit II E-310, a three burner grill that allows for indirect cooking without any need for accommodation, and the Spirit II E-320, a three burner grill with an additional gas side burner built into the right-hand side table.

Weber’s two burner Spirits have a cooking area of 2,288cm2 and the three burner models have a cooking area of 2,640cm2.

Weber Spirit range

Weber’s Spirit grills are currently available from Riverside in their three burner size. These grills have an enclosed storage space beneath the grill, offering gas bottle storage for a smaller patio gas bottle. A larger bottle can be stored on the right side of the barbecue and some models come with a gas bottle screen to hide the bottle from view. The Spirit’s fixed warming rack is ideal for toasting burger buns, melting cheese, and keeping food warm away from direct heat.

These grills again feature Weber’s cast iron GBS grates, allowing Weber’s GBS accessories to be used. The Spirit range also have a removable grease tray beneath the cook box, this funnels grease into the disposable drip tray below and slides out for ease of cleaning.

Other features on the Spirit barbecues include a side burner, such as on the Spirit SPX-335; a smart thermometer, such as on the Spirit EPX-315; a dedicated sear burner for high heat searing, such as on the Spirit EPX-325S, these grills also come with Weber’s cast iron GBS sear grate integrated into the cooking grates as standard; and a double-walled lid on all premium models, such as the Spirit EP-335 Premium.

Weber’s three burner Spirit models have a cooking area of 2,640cm2.

Weber Genesis range

Weber’s Genesis grills are available in three and four burner sizes. The cooking area of the three burner Genesis is 3,310cm2, and the cooking area of the four burner grill is 4,168cm2. The Genesis grills are larger than the Spirit models, even in the same burner size.

All of the new Genesis grills have porcelain-enamelled cast iron cooking grates compatible with Weber’s new CRAFTED GBS system. These accessories can be used to expand the capabilities of your grill, but the Genesis also comes with a frame to allow compatibility with the original GBS system. The Genesis grills feature a fold-out, collapsible warming rack, allowing even more space to keep food hot and perfectly melt cheese on your burgers, but folding away when not in use.

All of Weber’s new Genesis grills have an enclosed storage space with room to store a large or small sized patio gas bottle. They also boast two large stainless-steel side tables with plenty of room for food prep. The right-hand side table on models without Weber’s smart thermometer technology can be folded down when not in use. The elevation of the cook box walls on the new Genesis grills allows for the use of a rotisserie without it being necessary to remove the cooking grates, whereas when using a rotisserie with a Spirit grill the cooking grates will need to be removed.

All new Genesis models have a double-walled lid as well as large, high-intensity burners, this means that Genesis grills can reach and maintain higher temperatures with ease. They also feature a dedicated sear burner as well as the three or four main burners, giving an extra boost of heat perfect for achieving perfect caramelisation when searing.

The Weber Genesis grills are available in a black porcelain-enamel or a stylish stainless-steel finish. There are two optional additional features available on the new Genesis models. Genesis grills are available with either a gas side burner, such as the Genesis S-335, perfect for par-boiling vegetables or cooking up delicious sauces; Weber’s smart thermometer technology, which tells you the internal temperature of your grill as well as offering space for two meat probes to be attached, as on the Genesis EX-325S; or both, as on the Genesis EPX-435.
